Exploring the Limitations of Behavior Cloning for Autonomous Driving

Driving requires reacting to a wide variety of complex environment conditions and agent behaviors. Explicitly modeling each possible scenario is unrealistic. In contrast, imitation learning can, in theory, leverage data from large fleets of human-driven cars. Behavior cloning in particular has been successfully used to learn simple visuomotor policies end-to-end, but scaling to the full spectrum of driving behaviors remains an unsolved problem. In this paper, we propose a new benchmark to experimentally investigate the scalability and limitations of behavior cloning. We show that behavior cloning leads to state-of-the-art results, including in unseen environments, executing complex lateral and longitudinal maneuvers without these reactions being explicitly programmed. However, we confirm well-known limitations (due to dataset bias and overfitting), new generalization issues (due to dynamic objects and the lack of a causal model), and training instability requiring further research before behavior cloning can graduate to real-world driving. REFLEXÕES SOBRE O RECOLHIMENTO DE ADOLESCENTES COM DEFICIÊNCIA INTELECTUAL EM INSTITUIÇÕES TOTAIS. REFLECTIONS ON THE GATHERING OF TEENAGERS WITH INTELLECTUAL DISABILITIES IN TOTAL INSTITUTIONS

O confinamento de pessoas com deficiência intelectual em instituições como os asilos, manicômios e prisões se revela uma prática muito antiga. Embora sejam notórias as transformações sociais que vêm ocorrendo, principalmente nas últimas décadas, em tempos atuais, constata-se que essa prática é ainda uma realidade em nosso meio social, a exemplo dos institutos “reeducativos” para menores. A pessoa com deficiência intelectual inserida nesses institutos pode vivenciar situações traumáticas, como violências físicas, violências sexuais e morais, que dificultam a sua reinserção no convívio social. Tais eventos traumáticos podem ser potencializados com a vivência, com adolescentes infratores que cometeram “delitos” graves, bem como pela eventual atuação ou omissão de profissionais que, ao invés de protegê-los, negligenciam os cuidados, rotulando-os, também não colaborando para a sua reintegração. Havendo a ocorrência do ato infracional por uma pessoa com deficiência intelectual, a atuação de uma equipe técnica capacitada para uma triagem quanto à gradação da deficiência intelectual, da periculosidade do adolescente, e da gravidade do próprio ato infracional cometido, direcionando-o para instituições específicas, seriam condições essenciais para minimizar os possíveis impactos traumáticos, contribuindo para torná-lo mais autônomo, e com uma melhor autoestima em relação a sua deficiência. The confinement of people with intellectual disabilities in institutions such as nursing homes, asylums and prisons reveals a very old practice. Although notorious social transformations have occurred over the last decades, in recent times it appears that this practice is still a reality in our social environment, such as "correctional" institutes for minors. The person with intellectual disabilities inserted in these institutes can experience traumatic situations, such as physical, sexual and moral violence that hinder their reintegration into social life. These traumatic events can be powered by experiences with young offenders who have committed serious "crimes", as well as by the possible action or omission of professionals that, rather than protecting them, neglect the care, labeling them, not collaborating to their reintegration. If an intellectual deficient commits an offense, the performance of a crew trained to identify the degree of intellectual disability, the dangerousness of the teenager, and the severity of the offense committed, directing him/her to specific institutions, would be essential conditions to minimize the potential traumatic impact, helping to make this person a more autonomous one, with better self-esteem concerning his/her disability

DESEMPENHO DE CLONES AVANÇADOS DE BATATA INGLESA EM SISTEMA CONVENCIONAL DE PRODUÇÃO NO DISTRITO FEDERAL. (AGRONOMIA)

A batata (Solanum tuberosum) é uma hortaliça originária da região andina da América do Sul, sendo considerada a terceira maior fonte de alimentos para a humanidade. O objetivo do trabalho foi avaliar o desempenho de clones avançados de batata inglesa em sistema convencional de produção. Foram avaliados onze clones avançados e três cultivares consolidadas na cadeia produtiva da batata.avaliandoas seguintes características: vigor; altura de plantas, ciclo, número de tubérculos total, número de tubérculos comerciais, número de tubérculos refugo, massa de tubérculos total, massa de tubérculos comerciais e massa de tubérculos refugo. O delineamento experimental foi de blocos casualizados,com três repetições. Os dados foram submetidos à análise de variância e de agrupamento de médias de Scott-Knott. Houve diferenças entre clones para todas a características avaliadas, as características altura de plantas , massa de tubérculos total e comercial apresentaram interação significativa entreanos e genótipos avaliados. Os clones CC-476, F65-13-05 e F65-13-06 são os clones mais promissores para avançar para os ensaios em áreas de produtores, pois apresentam desempenho satisfatório e competitivo em relação às testemunhas comerciais em condições de ambientes favoráveis.Palavras-Chave: avaliação, seleção,cultivares, Solanum tuberosum

ORDEM DO DISCURSO SOBRE A JORNADA DE TRABALHO NA ENFERMAGEM

Objetivo: analisar a ordem discursiva proferida pelos Conselhos Regionais de Enfermagem da região nordeste quando instados a se manifestar sobre a jornada de trabalho no campo da enfermagem. Método: pesquisa qualitativa, documental, suporte teórico a ordem do discurso de Michael Foucault. Resultados: revelou falta consenso nas orientações dos Pareceres Técnicos relacionados ao tema jornada de trabalho, a falta de laços de solidariedade da categoria e tensão entre a hipossuficiência da trabalhadora diante a da mera liberalidade por decidir a sua jornada laboral. Conclusão: Os regimes de verdade produzidos nos Pareceres Técnicos remetem à reflexão sobre a necessidade de reconstrução da Enfermagem no sentido de participar efetivamente de um movimento político, social e ideológico para fortalecer a profissão. Cancer in the social representations of caregivers: implications for care

Objective: Identify the social representations of caregivers of cancer for patients with no chance of cure and analyze their implications for care. Method: This is a qualitative research based on the Theory of Representations. Results: In thematic content analysis fell into two categories: The discovery of the other necessary care and generating two subunits: Limitations and Dependencies of the patient and participation in care; The relationship care, caregiver and patient that generated two subunits: The suffering of caregivers and support, the comfort and hope the caregiver. Switching between local and global aromaticity in a conjugated macrocycle for high-performance organic sodium-ion battery anodes

Aromatic organic compounds can be used as electrode materials in rechargeable batteries and are expected to advance the development of both anode and cathode materials for sodium-ion batteries (SIBs). However, most aromatic organic compounds assessed as anode materials in SIBs to date exhibit significant degradation issues under fast-charge/discharge conditions and unsatisfying long-term cycling performance. Now, a molecular design concept is presented for improving the stability of organic compounds for battery electrodes. The molecular design of the investigated compound, [2.2.2.2]paracyclophane-1,9,17,25-tetraene (PCT), can stabilize the neutral state by local aromaticity and the doubly reduced state by global aromaticity, resulting in an anode material with extraordinarily stable cycling performance and outstanding performance under fast-charge/discharge conditions, demonstrating an exciting new path for the development of electrode materials for SIBs and other types of batteries

Bio-Inspired Wearable Antennas

Due to the recent miniaturization of wireless devices, the use of wearable antennas is steadily increasing. A wearable antenna is intended to be a part of the clothing used for communication purposes. In this way, a lower visual cost may be achieved. Recently, biologically inspired design, a kind of design by cross-domain analogy is a promising paradigm for innovation as well as low visual cost. The shapes of the plants are structures optimized by nature with the primary goal of light energy capture, transforming it into chemical energy. In this case, they have similar behavior to that of parabolic reflectors; this enables microwave engineers design innovative antennas using bio-inspired concepts. One of the advantages of using bio-inspired plant shapes is the design of antennas with great perimeters in compact structures. Thus, we have small antennas operating in low frequencies. This chapter presents the recent development in bio-inspired wearable antennas, easily integrated to the clothes and accessories used by the body, built in denim, low-cost flexible dielectric, and polyamide flexible dielectric, that is flexible with high resistance to twists and temperatures, for wireless body area network (WBAN) applications, operating in cellular mobile (2G, 3G, and 4G) and wireless local area network (2.4 and 5 GHz) protocols

Objetivo: Esta pesquisa tem por objetivo identificar e descrever as representações sociais dos cuidadores de pacientes sequelados de Acidente Vascular Cerebral (AVC) sobre a doença e suas implicações para o cuidado a saúde. Método: O estudo é exploratório do tipo estudo de caso, com abordagem qualitativa e o emprego da teoria das representações sociais. Foram entrevistados 20 cuidadores de pacientes sequelados de AVC e a análise ocorreu pelo método análise de conteúdo. Resultados: Emergiram três unidades temáticas denominadas de O AVC nas representações sociais de cuidadores, o Dês-zelo com a saúde e AVC e O AVC como um mal súbito, traiçoeiro e fatal. Conclusão: Apreendeu-se que os cuidadores percebem o AVC através de sentimentos negativos, onde a falta de autocuidado proporciona o surgimento da doença
